Whatever their gifts of their limitations, people are all bound together in a common humanity. Everyone is of unique and sacred value, and everyone has the same dignity and the same rights.
(Charter of the communities of L’Arche)
In 2014, L'Arche, with 145 communities in over 40 countries on five continents, is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
L'Arche communities around the world differ in so many ways and yet share the same identity. All of these communities belong to the International Federation of L'Arche.
Relationships with other communities are valued, and being part of this worldwide family allows us to experience diversity and difference through exchanges, joint formations and celebrations.
Belonging to a worldwide organisation enriches the life of each community. Across the world L'Arche is working to provide support to people with learning disabilities so that they can take their rightful place in society.
As an international organisation it seeks to promote diversity and solidarity across psychological as well as geographical boundaries.
